School of Rock House Band (Fairfax District) is a band made up of our school’s most talented and motivated students. In addition to participating in our regular program, students in House Band learn and rehearse other advanced songs, and then perform them at a variety of shows throughout the year. These gigs include street fairs and festivals, charity fundraisers, opening slots for touring artists, and block parties.

Participate in a yoga session inspired by works on view in the exhibition Rufino Tamayo: Innovation and Experimentation led by artist Teresa Flores with Rebecca Plevin, certified yoga instructor and reporter covering immigration and the California-Mexico border. Learn about the artists life and work through embodied movement. All are welcome and variations will be provided for every skill level. Please bring a yoga mat. Space is limited, please RSVP.

Join this gentle journey where each participant is given a colorful, easy to play percussion instrument and is guided by a facilitator to create a community of well-being through sound. Accessible to all, no musical experience is needed to benefit fully from this wonderful, immersive musical experience.
