Improvisational movement, guided by a facilitator and supported by music, stimulates creativity, self-expression, and authentic connection to others. This meditative practice softens self-judgement, restores vitality and promotes well-being. It is for all levels of movers, including even those who identify themselves as self-conscious or shy.
Instructor Bio:
Fred Sugerman is a movement artist, educator, and founder of Medicine Dance. He has an inquiring mind, fierce spirit and curious body informed by long-term mindfulness training and practice, as well as a background in traditional theatre and dance. He runs weekly classes, monthly workshops, movement arts laboratories, facilitator trainings, and retreats in Los Angeles and international settings. Fred is co-creator of “Mindful Movement for Breast Cancer Survivors,” the subject of research sponsored through the City of Hope and the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Providence St. John’s Health Center.
