IDuring the spring of 2020, when COVID-19 was taking hold, most of the country’s MFA programs opted to move their graduating students’ thesis exhibitions online or cancel them altogether.
ArtCenter recognized the importance of the final show for their students. Thanks to Bruce Hainley, ArtCenter’s MFA program chair, the final thesis shows were not cancelled, but rather, postponed to the end of summer.
MADWORKSHOP assisted by donating relief funds to provide students with the resources needed to install their final thesis projects. Students used the summer to slowly regain access to studios and also coordinate a safe way to exhibit their works.
Here are a few examples of the work presented.
