A+D Studios Carl Gustav Magnusson is a Swedish designer based in New York. After training as an engineer and architect and working for Charles and Ray Eames, Magnusson started his own graphics and photography practice in Los Angeles. In 1976, he began a nearly three-decade career at Knoll, where he commissioned works by designers such as Ettore Sottsass and Frank Gehry and founded the Knoll Design Museum. He continues to consult, lecture, and judge design competitions for a range of industries worldwide.
